The Focus Project / Urbantine 2008
15 October 2009 // Filed under Competitions + Concepts + Design

The Focus Project comes to fruition as a spatial device that raises visitors’ awareness of behavior within digitalized and non-digitalized workspaces. It shows pros as well as cons of both, without suggesting what effects with better results.

Digital media brings human being to a global platform of communication. We are getting used to perceive world as an easily accessible entity. “Satellite view” becomes a new human perspective. Our focus starts on a small screen but it may end up on the other side of the globe. However, personal inter-human relations are then cut down to minimum – perception becomes more framed and concentrated on particular visible content. Although we are conscious about the daily life happening around us, we are not taking part in it.

Working in a non-digitalized way evoke completely different mind-activity spectrum. We are more open to our our closest surrounding where a multitude of factors is waiting to trigger our minds. Listen, watch, and touch.
We are just about to enter an anonymous pavilion box to experience two radically different ways of communication and interaction. Welcome to THE FOCUS PROJECT.
